Kaleigh woke up the next daily feeling oddly refreshed, like she slept a million years that night. And look at that its “8:30am!” Wow, Kaleigh thinks. She hadn’t slept in until 8:30 for a very long time.
High school was now over and all she had to look forward to this summer was playing soccer and working and getting ready for University. It was shaping up to be another amazing summer. She had lots of plans for camping and going on road trips with friends and all that good stuff. But something was missing. She felt a slight ‘Void.” Like she was missing something, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
The summer past in a flash as it always did. The summers never lasted long enough for Kaleigh. But as always, it was very memorable. Her and Tarah had accomplished a lot. Did well in their final All-star soccer provincials as well as school soccer Provincals. They had won each a few more scholarships. They both were offered scholarships to play University Soccer as well but they decided they wanted to give their soccer career a little break for a year.
They wanted to go into University as regular students not “glorified” soccer players who were getting there school paid for. As well, they just really needed a break from all the hard core training. Kaleigh especially. She wanted to focus on her career and she new she wasn’t going any further with her soccer as much as she would have loved to play she knew with work and school she would not have time. Tarah’s program was very condensed and fast and she didn’t know if she also knew she would have the time.
So they went into they’re first semester together but apart as they were in different programs. They went as regular “newbies”. As they were called in their first semester.
It had only been a week into their semester and they both loved it. It was really different and cool and they both got to meet lots of new people.
While they were both meeting new different people they were still enjoying it a lot. They didn’t however get to spend much time together and they both had 6 classes that semester and didn’t really have time for each other, other then the ride to and from school, if they could even work that out. Kaleigh usually got a ride with a friend to school as Tarah had to be there really early every morning. But they still tried to go run and to the gym together as much as they could.
The semester was going really well. So it seemed. Until, all the projects and midterms were getting closer. It started to get a little overwhelming as Kaleigh had to work 5 days a week on top of her school schedule. She thought she would be fine but she started getting that “feeling” back that ” uneasy” “anxious” feeling, that haunted many of her dreams still.
She didn’t want that back EVER, she knew that much.
But, it slowly crept its way back into her life. And as fast as it came before it came back. And it came back like a fierce storm. Ready to wreck anything and everything in its path…
